IF-A/AGWSR girls XC wins Newman Invite

MASON CITY – The Iowa Falls-Alden/AGWSR girls cross country won the Mason City Newman Invite on Tuesday, led by a 1-2 finish by Aubrie Fisher and Ellie Meyer.


Fisher won the race in 20 minutes and 0.5 seconds, while Meyer was the runner-up in 20:36. Haley Bakker was 17th overall in 22:59.


IF-A/AGWSR had a team total of 61 points, well clear of team runner-up Mason City Newman with 87 points.


The Cadets boys were sixth in an 11-team field with 143 points, two points behind Osage in fifth and four points behind Forest City in fourth place.


Brayden Penning was the top Cadet runner on Tuesday, placing 13th overall in 18:16.
