Sheriff's office welcomes two new deputies

Robert Maharry

Andrew Stanley and Justin Fox have a lot in common: they’re both 28, both veterans, both graduates of Hawkeye Community College’s Police Science program and both new deputies with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office. Now, they’re looking forward to hitting the ground running and serving the people in a new capacity.
For locals in Grundy Center, Fox is already a familiar face. The Cedar Falls native and Marine Corps veteran spent the last four years as an officer with the city police department, and he jumped at the opportunity to cover a wider territory. Stanley, on the other hand, grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas, and played college football before following his mother to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area after she remarried and joining the Army National Guard.
“For me, my entire family has been a family of service. Every man in my family has always been in the military, a firefighter or a policeman, and I just kind of followed in those footsteps,” Fox said.
They’re both looking forward to working on various aspects of law enforcement, including the jail and civil divisions, the drug task force and higher level investigations.
